Administrative Searches Top Our Work This Autumn
Updated: Nov 17, 2020

VisM has been busy this fall mentoring administrators, doing administrative searches and, most significantly, concluding a key head of school search.
With their current head of school retiring after 30+ years, The Newman School of Boston needed thoughtful guidance through the rigors of an international head search.
VisM Met That Challenge
With 37 final applicants, including 8 past-or-present heads from across the globe, the perfect candidate was selected. On October 21 the Newman School Board of Trustees appointed Michael J. Schafer as the new Head of School, effective July 1, 2020.
Current Newman Board Chair David T. MacLaughlin, Ph.D. had this to say about VisM's guidance:
"Comprehensive planning is key in a search of this type and Dexter’s thoughtful guidance was paramount. . .Â
. . .Selecting a new Head of School is one of the most important responsibilities of a board of trustees. I believe, in our case, because of Dexter Morse’s guidance, the process was smooth, producing a wide selection of acceptable candidates; it was on schedule, and very reasonably priced."

I wish you a successful end of the fall semester or trimester, and a very happy Holiday Season.
Sincerely,
Dexter Morse
